There’s something about a majestic lion roaming freely in its own habitat and roaring loudly to make his presence felt. Gir National Park is the only place in the world where you can watch Asiatic lions experience just this.
Safari through this esteemed wildlife destination is like being a guest of royalty as you get to witness lions and leopards in their glory. Besides their charisma, you will also be enchanted by the other animals such as sambar, hyena, Indian fox, monitor lizards, Marsh crocodile, and more than 425 species of birds such as the Egyptian Vulture, Greater Spotted Eagle, and more.
Velavadar is considered the African Savannah of India. Besides the pale, custard-colored grassland, the landscape offers some of the rarest species of animals and birds. You get to witness the famous blackbucks prancing, feeding, and even locking horns to establish dominance! If you’re early enough, you can even watch the wolves and blue bulls (nilgai).
This sanctuary, too, is blessed with migratory birds in winter that travel across the oceans to grace the grassland with their colors and songs! Sighting wintering harriers from Siberia, Lesser Florican, larks, Bushchats, Wheatears, etc., would make truly make your day!
